Prepared and packaged food items found in the stores tend to be more expensive than if you cooked the food yourself and they usually contain additives and preservatives required to maintain integrity of the food item.
Many people on restricted diets find that with a little training they can easily control what they ingest, such as sodium and fats, by cooking it themselves.
?Table for One: A guide for shopping and cooking? will discuss planning for the shopping experience, perimeter shopping and cooking a meal in the portion sizes needed by many.? Presenters will talk about scaling down recipes to decrease the quantity and how to store and use leftovers so that cooking is not something that needs to be done all of the time.?
Food cards and samples will be provided.
